Breweries changed with the times during prohibition and again as craft brewing became trendy. In the coronavirus era, social distancing effectively shut down breweries, but their adaptive nature keeps the kegs flowing.

1 If you as a parent don't understand and the child is struggling, ask the teacher for help. Emailing the teacher is such an important way to communicate. Teachers don't know there is an issue if no one asks for help. And, it's okay to not understand an assignment!

Madison County’s District #1 will vote for a county commissioner in the primary elections June 2. District #1 includes Virginia City, Alder and Sheridan. It is a nonpartisan election, with four candidates running for the seat. The top two candidates will carry on to the general election ballot in November.

The community gathered on Twin Bridges’ Main Street to support their local restaurants Friday evening. The Old Hotel’s daily 50 bento boxes were accounted for before the day started. The Wagon Wheel Restaurant, Steakhouse & BBQ had to call employees into work for the first time since it closed its dining room.

Gov. Bullock announced a phased reopening of Montana's economy, which will begin when all directives expire April 24. More details of the gradual process will be announced next week.

The Governor’s Office released an interim analysis of COVID-19 cases as of April 10. “It sheds light on who this virus impacts, how it spreads and patient outcomes,” Gov. Steve Bullock said during a press call. The data will be used to inform decisions going forward.

Once upon a time, a tattered traveler came to a small village and asked for something to eat. “No, we have barely enough for ourselves,” said the wary villagers as they started shutting the door. “Then could you spare some water for my pot?” he said with a twinkle in his eye.

Many of Madison County’s small business owners are awaiting their first glimpse of financial assistance from the federal government to combat the coronavirus’ economic blow.
