The Sheridan School Board met on Tuesday, March 10 to continue work on the strategic plan, listened to two students’ advocacy project demonstration and planned an extra meeting for COVID-19 discussion.

Coronavirus is dominating conversation at home, in the workplace, in the stores and in your child’s playground. Many parents are worried about how to talk to their kids about the epidemic without adding to their anxiety.

Madison County’s nursing homes have been closed to visitors in attempt to protect their patients.

When a coronavirus case was confirmed in Montana, the county closed the doors to its two nursing homes. Staff and service providers will continue to be screened at the door at the facilities.

Even before the coronavirus was ever confirmed on Montana soil, Madison County was feeling the effects. The grocery stores in Ennis, Twin Bridges and Sheridan have all been experiencing unprecedented demand, particularly for sanitizers and paper products.

As the virus tightens its grip on the community you can expect growing numbers of businesses to close temporarily and for more and more people to be asked to work from home.

At times of crisis many people turn to their church for comfort but here too there is no escape from coronavirus.

The coronavirus has dealt a major blow to the economy of southwest Montana. The enforced closure of all bars and restaurants along with the decision by many small businesses to shut up shop, means added pressure on an already struggling workforce. That coupled with the threat of illness is putting added pressure on many low income families.
