The race is on

Ennis runners keep the pace

Ennis’ cross-country competitors have been making the most of the sport’s short season, recently competing in several meets including the Mountain West Classic in Missoula on Sept. 19. A notable finish from that meet included Lilly Connor’s personal record of 27:59.

The following week the runners were in the Mining City for the Butte Invitational. Here’s a rundown of successes from that event:

Varsity:

Tyler Barsness: PR 22:37

Finley Knapton: PR 21:45

Paige Curry: PR 31:57

Grace Stecker: PR 26:05 (now a top 50 time in class C for Montana)

Middle school top 20 finishes:

Finn Graden: 9:49.1

Gavin Sather: 9:49.2

Ella Rolfe: 11:22.5 A

mber Rolfe: 11:40.3

The Mustang runners now look forward to competing in Three Forks on Oct. 2.
