Ennis sent an impressive contingent of runners to the state cross country tournament in Missoula on Oct. 23.

The boy's team placed 4th overall, one place away from receiving the coveted state trophies. Eli Beardsley, the number one runner from Ennis, medaled by placing 13th in the boy's race. The other boy's team members were as follows:

• Eli Beardsley - 13th

• Tait Olson - 23rd

• Wylie Connor - 36th

• Finley Knapton - 55th

• Tyler Barsness - 60th

Girl's team placed 11th in the Class C race with the following places:

• Genesis Boyles - 23rd

• Grace Stecker - 48th

• Paige Curry - 70th

• Lilly Connor - 83rd

“The runners, coaches, and spectators were all so grateful for the beautiful fall weather instead of the foot of snow that we have raced in the last two years at state,” Coach Jamie Diehl wrote in an email following the tournament. “Coach Legg and I were so proud of the accomplishments that the girls and boys teams had, and are excited for the future of the Ennis Cross Country team.”
