School Board decisions
To open or not to open
Sheridan Schools decided Sunday evening to remain closed. Students and teachers will finish the school year with remote learning.
The Sheridan School Board was the first of Madison County’s public-school boards to vote on a decision. The statewide school closures will lift under stringent guidelines May 7. The guidelines from the governor’s office are measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, which included that high-risk students or students with high-risk family members should continue to receive remote support.
The rest of Madison County’s school boards will meet soon to determine how the remainder of the school year will look.
