VIRGINIA CITY – Recent election results from local schools and the hospital are now available. The school district results are not official. The existing school boards must canvass these results before they are final.
However, the hospital result is final.
Below are the winners of these elections.
MISSOULA – Martin James Walsh, a 53-year-old resident of Twin Bridges, Mont., pled guilty to possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of a substance containing a detect-able amount of methamphetamine. U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeramiah Lynch presided over the hearing.
ENNIS - Despite the Madison County planning board’s recommendation that plans for the North 40 development be approved – with the conditions specified by the planning board – Ennis Town Commission, after a good bit of discussion, tabled any decision on the plans, on Thursday, May 10.
ENNIS - According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), water is going to be a problem across Montana, especially western Montana, during the next several months.
VIRGINIA CITY – Virginia City’s town council unanimously approved using saw-horse style barricades to shunt pedestrian traffic away from the Creighton Block and Dudley Building and the boardwalk in front of these buildings at their Thursday, May 3 meeting.
VIRGINIA CITY – The Madison County Commissioners met for their regular meeting last week and discussed a pre-disaster mitigation plan, waterlines and fairground bids.
