Big winners and wild rides highlight the Madison County Fair and Rodeo

Here’s a recap of the notable results as Twin Bridges and Townsend hosted Northern Rodeo Association competition

McAllister’s Brand Morgan qualified two eight second saddle bronc rides over the weekend taking home a fifth place finish at the Madison County Fair and Rodeo in Twin Bridges and a second place finish at the Broadwater Rodeo and Fair in Townsend. The rides earned him just under $700 and kept him in 6th place in the Northern Rodeo Association season standings. 

 

Morgan’s ride in Twin Bridges scored a disappointing 71 points on a smokey Thursday night in Twin Bridges. Leroy Eash of Fortine won the saddle bronc event with an 82 point ride moving him up the standings one spot into second place less than $500 behind leader Colton Haase of E. Helena who finished tied for second in Twin Bridges and won the event in Townsend to take the top spot.  

 

No bull riders were able to survive eighth seconds with the Jacobs livestock bulls in Twin Bridges. Riggin Pierce of Sheridan, WY scored second place in Townsend and kept his spot at the top of the season leader board. 

 

Brooke Billingsley of Glasgow ran the barrels in 17.87 seconds and won over $1200, keeping her in third place on the season. Charlie Yeager of Choteau won the breakaway roping in Twin Bridges with a time of 2.7 seconds and took home almost $1400 for her effort. 

 

Deer Lodge and Livingston will host events this weekend as the season moves towards its end. More information is available at northernrodeo.com
