Unofficial election results from Madison County School and Special District elections are in. Paula McKenzie, Madison County Clerk and Recorder and Election Administrator shared the tallies below.
Special District Elections
Madison and Ruby Valley Rural Ambulance District: PASSED
Ballots for all school and special district elections being held on May 3 of this year are in the mail. These elections are mail ballots only. The ballots were mailed April 13, according to Paula McKenzie, Madison County Clerk & Recorder/Election Administrator.
Election season 2022 has officially begun. The deadlines for candidates for state, county and local school board positions have passed and the names on the ballots are set.
Voters have until 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 2, 2021, to return their municipal ballots to the elections office in Virginia City via mail or drop off. According to Paula McKenzie, Madison County Clerk & Recorder/Election Administrator, “A postmark on the affirmation envelope WILL NOT work.” Late Registration began Oct.
School board trustee election ballots will be mailed to county residents on April 16. Filing for positions closed March 25.
Montana’s post offices are more than equipped to handle the 2020 mail in ballots.
Montana’s House District 71 will have a new representative for the first time in eight years.
Rules for Madison County’s elections have adjusted to accommodate the statewide stay-at- home order.
Seats in several Madison County offices will be elected or need to be appointed.
