Low active cases

As of May 11, Madison County reported four active coronavirus cases. There are currently zero hospitalizations and there have been 786 cases since the start of the pandemic.

“That’s giving the public health a little breathing room,” Incident Command Leader Joe Brummell said regarding the low active case count. Active cases across the state are just over one thousand each day and there is good hospital bed capacity, Brummell provided. Madison County has 2,582 fully vaccinated residents and 5,453 doses have been administered.

Nursing home updates have been moved to every other week after last Tuesday’s Madison County Board of Commissioners’ Meeting.
