Drop in positivity rate

Madison County COVID update

On Tuesday, Montana reported 803 new coronavirus cases, according to the Governor’s Coronavirus Task Force update.

According to Gov. Steve Bullock and U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams, the Covid-19 positivity rate in Montana has dropped from a peak of 20% in November to 14% through Dec. 10.

"Montana Nurses Association (MNA) is excited to see vaccines on the horizon and appreciates that healthcare workers are first priority; however, we cannot let our guard down and we cannot stop wearing masks,” Vicky Byrd, MN, RN; CEO of MNA said.

Byrd recommended Montanans limit travel and stay within family groups during the holiday seasons to avoid a rise in infections, hospitalizations and death.

“Let’s work together and keep the positivity rate going in a downward direction,” Byrd said.
