Active cases, Madison County COVID update

Madison County has 12 active COVID-19 cases as of Oct. 6.

Montana’s last stronghold against COVID-19, Petroleum County, had its first case last week. COVID-19 is present in every Montana County and cases are rising. Last week, Montana confirmed 2,434 new COVID-19 cases. Madison County confirmed 15 new COVID-19 cases last week.

The county is 20th in case rates in the state due to rising cases in more counties. The Madison County Public Health Board has restricted events over 50 people in the county due to the virus’ spread.

“The COVID virus has inconvenienced us on every level,” Madison County Public Health Nurse Melissa Brummel said. “But it’s just so important that we work together to try and decrease the spread.”
