Sheridan Middle School revives Cross-Country program
Concludes season with community service project
For the first time in several years, Sheridan Middle School fielded a cross-country team, consisting of three student-athletes. The team competed in meets across Montana, including races in Harrison, Dillon, Butte, Livingston and Big Timber, placing in several races.
To conclude this inaugural season, the girls chose a community service project to run with dogs at the Beaverhead Animal Shelter. On a fall morning, the girls took four shelter dogs—Sandy, Aspen, Sunny and Luna—out for a morning run. The dogs returned with tails wagging after enjoying some much-needed time outside the kennel. The dogs interacted well with the girls. All the dogs are available for adoption. Each would make a great companion or running partner. Those interested in adopting can contact the Beaverhead Animal Shelter for more information.
The team wishes to express gratitude to Sheridan Middle School and the local community for their support throughout the season and look forward to continuing the program next year.
