Honorary “E” Fall 2020
Madison County Volleyball
A year ago, Ennis Booster Club reinstalled the tradition of giving out an Honorary “E” to a community member who we feel has been an exceptional supporter of our youth athletes. This fall, our Honorary “E” recipient is Vurnie Kay Barnett.
Vurnie first started volunteering to keep stats for the high school volleyball team in 1985. From paper to Ipad, through ten coaches, hundreds of miles on a bus and 34 years. . . Vurnie has kept stats for the Ennis Lady Mustang Volleyball team.
Vurnie’s favorite part of being involved is interacting with the girls and other coaches. She feels she has made many wonderful friends over the years. One of the toughest parts was the year was she was Montana Woman’s Club president. She needed to attend a meeting in Washington D.C. the same weekend as the State tournament. It was the first time the Lady Mustangs made it to State and the only time Vurnie missed a tournament!
