The Madisonian takes home honors at MNA convention

The Madisonian won 11 awards in the Montana Newspaper Association’s Better Newspaper Contest.

The awards were presented at the association’s annual convention held in Lewistown last weekend.

The Madisonian is considered a Class 2 weekly by the MNA and competes against other weekly newspapers in the state with a circulation between 1,500 and 2,999.

The Madisonian won the following first place awards:

Best Website

Best Columnist, Mike McMahon

Best Feature Photograph, Greg Lemon.

The paper’s staff won second place in the following categories:

Special Projects, 2010 Home and Garden Special Edition

Advertising Headline, Erica Senf.

The paper’s staff won the following third place awards:

Sports Feature, Kurtis Koenig

Single House Ad, Erica Senf

General Excellence.

The paper was awarded honorable mention in the following categories: Special Projects, 2010 Hunting Guide; Niche Publication, 2010 Summer Times; Small Space Ad, Erica Senf.
