Taking her talents Down Under

“I’ve always loved track and field and I’m just so excited to go,” said Ennis High School senior Krysta Saunders. Saunders has been selected to represent Montana on the 2018 Down Under Sports Program track and field team. She will fly to Queensland, Australia this July to compete for both individual and team honors.

Katlyn Loftis is no stranger to life in a small town. She’s no stranger to life in a bustling city, nor a stranger to a life outside. Growing up in Pine Valley, Calif., Loftis made a detour to Montana after meeting her fiancé and has now called the Madison Valley home for two years.

100 Years Ago

German armies continued their advance into Soviet Russia and occupied Minsk on Feb. 21, 1918. Soviet leader Leon Trotsky announced that Russia would come to terms with the Germans, which culminated in a peace treaty signed at Brest-Litovsk on March 3.
