Football: Mustangs continue charge, Whitehall falls in nail-biter

Fair board addresses future needs

The Madison County Fair Board, in conjunction with the community, has a few big decisions to make in the next month, which they discussed at their Sept. 21 meeting in Twin Bridges. The county is working with Great West Engineering to develop a master plan for the fairgrounds, and the board’s input will guide that document.

For the piggy bank: Market sale churns out $381,000 to Madison County youth

The Madison-Jefferson County Fair market sale grossed $381,459.75, down $450,000 from last year’s market.
“Even though we were down from last year, we still had a phenomenal sale,” said Leif Funston, president of the volunteer livestock sales committee.

Shirley Gandenberger: giving back locally and nationally

“If you can’t help one another you can’t help yourself,” said Shirley Gandenberger.
Gandenberger has given a lot of herself over the years – from helping her community in Pony to taking part in national programs.
A hairdresser by trade, Gandenberger was a hair instructor in Bozeman in the 80s and 90s where she got involved with the Look Good, Feel Good program. Look Good, Feel Good is a nationwide program that helps cancer patients through partnerships in the beauty industry.

Harrison School Board sets schedule for next year, renews football co-op, addresses concerns with administration

At their regular meeting on March 9, the Harrison School Board discussed the school’s 2015-16 schedule, renewed the football co-op with Whitehall and addressed staff concerns with the school administration.
