As ballot boxes started arriving at the Madison County Administrative Building in Virginia City from precincts around the county after 8 p.m. on June 7, Kim Hudson and many other volunteers got to work.
Out of Madison County’s 5,822 registered voters, 2,776 filled out ballots for a 47.68 percent voter turnout.
With the primary quickly approaching, the Twin Bridges Rotary Club held a candidate forum at the Twin Bridges High School on May 19, with candidates running for Senate District 36, House District 71 and Commission District 1.
On Wednesday, May 4, nearly 75 people crowded in the community room in the Madison County Administrative Building for a candidate forum hosted by The Madisonian. Candidates from Senate District 36, House District 71 and commission district one took turns answering and addressing questions submitted by the public before the primary election on June 7.
At their regular commission meeting on March 21, the Madison County Board of Commissioners voted to hold a primary election for commission district number one, which is up for election this year.
