Two Madison County teams were in Manhattan Christian last week, battling for one of two spots to represent district 12C at the state volleyball tournament. The Ennis Mustangs, who took the district title, soared to the championship match on Nov. 4, while the Twin Bridges Falcons fought their way to a fifth place finish.

“I feel like we are finally clicking on all cylinders,” said Ennis head coach Chris Hess, following the Mustangs’ playoff win Nov. 4 against Belt. The boys in green amassed more than 300 rushing yards, while stopping the Huskies’ running game completely, which propelled them to a 72-52 win on the road.
Wayne Black is no stranger to the communities in the Madison Valley. As the owner of Ennis’ local hardware store since 1980, Black has been catering to residents’ needs for a while.

Last Saturday, Oct. 7, Inge Perkins, a 23-year-old from Bozeman, perished in an avalanche on Imp Peak, between West Yellowstone and Big Sky, according to a Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office news release. Perkins was ascending Imp Peak with 27-year-old Hayden Kennedy on skis when the avalanche was triggered.
