County officially adopts recycling pilot plan

Madison County Solid Waste and Recycling Board has been focused on promoting recycling around the county. As of July 18, commissioners officially signed off on adopting a one year pilot program to promote recycling in county facilities. The official kick off is expected to take effect no later than September 2017.

Trash talk: Solid waste board hears complaints about Cardwell site

Residents addressed the solid waste board at the meeting asking what could be done to control the overflow of trash and keep people who are not Madison County residents from utilizing the site. Everything from constructing a fence around the site to signs to enforcing a fine was suggested.

MACo elects Hart as second vice president

When commissioners from all of Montana’s 56 counties met in Billings at the end of September for their annual fall Montana Association of Counties conference, Madison County’s own commissioner Jim Hart was elected to MACo’s administration.

Ennis commissioners hire new mayor

Though the big agenda item at the Ennis Town Commission meeting on March 10 was the selection of a mayor, the commissioners handled other business first, including allowing the library to purchase a storage unit, applying for a grant and renewing a participation agreement in a state investment program.
