Before summer comes spring, and for many of Madison County’s youth, that means sports. March 13 marked the beginning of track and golf practices, and many students and coaches around the county are ready to get back in action.
The Lady Falcons from Twin Bridges were the only Madison County team to travel to this year’s state tournament March 2-4 in Belgrade. The Lady Falcons took home the third place trophy and finished their season with only one loss in their record books – falling to the class C state champions, the Belt Lady Huskies.

Both Falcons teams had the games they hoped for. With the 12C district championship titles on the line, the Falcons were hoping for the ultimate redemption, and the Lady Falcons wanted to continue their winning streak.

Ennis, Sheridan, Twin Bridges and Harrison/Willow Creek teams head to district tournament.
Ennis Boys The Mustangs were home last weekend as they invited the Prospectors from Granite to a conference matchup. Just a week shy of the district tournament, which is set to take place in Butte on Feb. 17 and 18, the Mustangs were able to add another “W” to their record, defeating the Prospectors 62-33. […]
The gym was packed with passion as every player, whether they donned red and black or purple and white, fought for possession of the ball, taking elbows to the back and hits to the floor. Bruised knees and sweat covered brows could not hold either team back, but it was the Lady Falcons who walked away victorious.
Due to plummeting temperatures, high winds and blowing and drifting snow, all Madison County basketball games for Dec. 16 were postponed. The Harrison vs. Sheridan game was rescheduled for Jan. 6, and the Ennis vs. Twin Bridges game was rescheduled for Feb. 7.
