Harrison teams victorious on the road in Sheridan

The first Madison County basketball game of the New Year came on Jan. 3 when the Sheridan Panthers hosted the Harrison Wildcats. Despite cool temperatures outside, the court saw heat as the Wildcats and Panthers battled back and forth for possession of the ball, resulting in close games for both teams. In the end, however, both Wildcat teams were victorious.

Weather forces cancelation of most Madison County basketball games

Due to plummeting temperatures, high winds and blowing and drifting snow, all Madison County basketball games for Dec. 16 were postponed. The Harrison vs. Sheridan game was rescheduled for Jan. 6, and the Ennis vs. Twin Bridges game was rescheduled for Feb. 7. What to expect from the Mustangs, Wildcats, Panthers and Falcons this basketball season

Tis the season … for basketball in Madison County. The Madisonian reached out to the varsity coaches from Ennis, Harrison, Sheridan and Twin Bridges so we have an idea of what to expect from our teams this season.

Ennis wins Class C 8-man State Championship in sudden death overtime

It all came down to the Mustang defense. Ennis was up, 30 – 24, in Charlo in a sudden death style overtime for the Class C 8-man State Championship, and the Vikings had four chances to make it into the end zone from the 10 yard line. If they scored six, the game continued. Any more than that, Ennis would lose.

Ennis defeats Wibaux, will play Charlo for the title this weekend

Though Wibaux put up a fight – the toughest the Ennis football team has seen so far this year – the Mustangs gained momentum early on and brought home a win, 46 – 6, which earned them a trip to the state championship on Nov. 19 in Charlo.

Madison County volleyball heats up

Madison County was full of volleyball action last week as all four schools faced off against one another for cross county action. Thursday, Sept. 15, was busy as Harrison traveled over the hill to take on their county rivals in Ennis, and Sheridan headed 8 miles north to duke it out with Twin Bridges. Read […]

3 teams on the road, Falcons welcome Victor Pirates to Carroll Field

The Twin Bridges Falcons competed well against Victor’s athletic quarter back and big, physical team. They played the Pirates close in the first half, entering the locker room trailing 7 – 14, but Victor’s tough team pulled away in the third quarter. The Falcons fell to the Pirates, 13 – 28.
