Harrison teams victorious on the road in Sheridan

The first Madison County basketball game of the New Year came on Jan. 3 when the Sheridan Panthers hosted the Harrison Wildcats. Despite cool temperatures outside, the court saw heat as the Wildcats and Panthers battled back and forth for possession of the ball, resulting in close games for both teams. In the end, however, both Wildcat teams were victorious.

Weather forces cancelation of most Madison County basketball games

Due to plummeting temperatures, high winds and blowing and drifting snow, all Madison County basketball games for Dec. 16 were postponed. The Harrison vs. Sheridan game was rescheduled for Jan. 6, and the Ennis vs. Twin Bridges game was rescheduled for Feb. 7. What to expect from the Mustangs, Wildcats, Panthers and Falcons this basketball season

Tis the season … for basketball in Madison County. The Madisonian reached out to the varsity coaches from Ennis, Harrison, Sheridan and Twin Bridges so we have an idea of what to expect from our teams this season.


Madison County basketball teams traveled to Manhattan Christian last week for four days of basketball – at the end of the 11/12C district tournament, both the Mustangs and Lady Mustangs and the Lady Falcons from Twin Bridges earned spots in this week’s divisional tournament in Hamilton.

Falcons continue their winning records; look forward to districts

The Twin Bridges gym was packed on Feb. 13 as the Falcons hosted their rivals from down the highway for senior honor night. The Panthers and Falcons battled it out for their last regular season games before heading to the district tournament in Manhattan Christian on Wednesday, Feb. 17.
As a sea of red and black dominated the gym to cheer on the home team, and red and black also dominated the court, as both Falcon teams defeated the Panthers.

Harrison vs. Sheridan – Battle of the big cats

Cross-county rivals – Harrison and Sheridan – clashed in the Harrison gym on Feb. 6 for a night of purple-themed basketball. Both schools have cat mascots, Wildcats and Panthers, and both claim purple as their school color.
