More than 50 people gathered at the fire hall to learn about bear behavior, how to avoid encounters and what to do if an encounter happens.
A long stretch of headlights toured down MT Highway 287, turning into the Ennis Rodeo Grounds. Engine after engine lined the open field as firefighters unloaded their packs after a 14 hour day on the Blue Lake Fire.

Grass fire reported south of Ennis
The round barn north of Twin Bridges, which was constructed by Noah Armstrong in 1882 and restored last year, hosted members of the Madison County Economic Development Council, county commissioners and other interested parties on June 29 for a meeting of the minds.
“Instead of our normal set up, where you hear a lot of talk from (me), I want to do it a little differently,” said Rob Gilmore MCEDC coordinator. “I want to hear from all of you. I thought we could share how things have been in our areas.”
Out of Madison County’s 5,822 registered voters, 2,776 filled out ballots for a 47.68 percent voter turnout.
With the primary quickly approaching, the Twin Bridges Rotary Club held a candidate forum at the Twin Bridges High School on May 19, with candidates running for Senate District 36, House District 71 and Commission District 1.
With school winding down for all Madison County students, four schools have already hosted elementary track and field days – Twin Bridges, Alder, Harrison and Ennis.
Last Friday, May 6, 2016, more than 100 students from Ennis, Harrison, Cardwell and Alder descended on Fan Mountain Arena south of Ennis for Ag Days.
