Donald Franklin Mallo, 46 years old, was scheduled to appear before judge MaryAnn O’Malley via video Tuesday afternoon facing two counts of burglary and two counts of felony theft.
Mallo was arrested in Butte on Aug. 1 after a search yielded evidence in the burglaries of the Stockman Bar in Sheridan and Stonefly Inn & Outfitters in Twin Bridges. A 44-year-old woman was arrested with Mallo, but she has not been charged with any crime in Madison County.
Beside the burglary and felony theft charges in Madison County, Mallo was also charged with violating his parole by the Butte-Silver Bow Law Enforcement Department.
The Butte-Silver Bow Law Enforcement Department, FBI and Montana Parole and Probation assisted Madison County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Tenny in the search and arrest. They found more than $5,000 worth of methamphetamine during the search.
No other arrests have been made regarding recent thefts and burglaries across the county. Madison County Undersheriff Roger Thompson said the sheriff’s office continues to receive tips and follow leads. He encourages everyone to secure their valuables and report suspicious activity by calling 843-5301 or 911 in case of emergency.
“There are still people out there taking advantage of what’s available for them to take,” Thompson said.
