State golf tournament wraps up in Ennis
The leaders atop the scoreboard going into Wednesday’s final round of the Class C high school golf championship at Madison Meadows Golf Course in Ennis were clustered tightly together. But by the end of the day leader Karlee Popp of Park City claimed the girls’ individual title with a commanding victory, while Tate Tatom of Lone Peak barely walked away with the boys’ title. UPDATE, 7 p.m.
The Montana Class C State Golf Tournament is in the books. On the Girls side Harlowtown edged out Belt for the team title and Karlee Popp from Park City won the individual crown by 12 strokes.
On the boys side, Manhattan Christian took home the team title and Tate Tatom from Lone Peak edges Sean Ryan from Great Falls Central by one stroke to take home the individual crown. Full results are here.
UPDATE, 3:40 p.m. – Our streak of luck with the weather has turned momentarily, as the tournament is under a weather delay for thunderstorms. Golfers are marking their balls and heading back to the club house.
