Madison County cross country takes on state

A high of 12 degrees made for a chilly state cross country meet. On Saturday, Kalispell was snowy and cold, but runners powered through.

“Tough conditions, but Montana-tough runners!” Ennis cross country coach Melinda Legg said.

Montana High School Association (MHSA) Class C 5,000-meter state cross country results are as follows:

Ennis: Eli Beardsley, 21:09:32; Wylie Connor, 22:11:95; Tait Olson, 22:20:57; Kyle LaClair, 24:09:10; and Genesis Boyles, 27:16:72. The Ennis men’s team came in 8th out of 12 at the meet.

Twin Bridges, with coach Hannah Konen: Morgan Hendrickson, 20:13:13; Zane Carter, 20:58:58; Kyie Salerno, 25:54:38; Pablo Babcock, 26:13:17; and Allie Dale, 24:01:49. The Twin Bridges men’s team came in 7th out of 12 teams. Hendrickson placed 15th out of 74 male runners.

Congratulations to Madison County cross country runners and coaches on another season of running in an unusual year.
