ENNIS—A recent federal report surveyed school districts around the country and found that fewer than half of them regularly test for lead in their water supplies.
SHERIDAN—The Sheridan school board held its monthly meeting on Tuesday, July 10, at which primary topics of discussion were the planned renovation of the high school’s football field area, an update on the district’s audit and review and adjustment of several of the district’s policies and forms.
MADISON COUNTY—The Annie E. Casey Foundation released its KIDS COUNT Data Book for 2018 on Wednesday, June 27.
ENNIS - Will Gilmore has earned some time off.
He just graduated from Ennis High School, the class president and co-valedictorian with a 4.0 GPA, Honor Society member, having filled his extracurricular hours with athletics and community service.
ENNIS – At a special meeting of the Ennis school board on May 24, the board approved moving forward with a $270,000 bid to expand the current weight room and add storage space at the high school, a project that would expand the building by 1,975 square feet.
Need for the project
ENNIS – The Ennis School District’s custodial staff breathed a sigh of relief Wednesday evening, May 16, when the school board voted to continue working with them to find ways of reducing costs, rather than contract an outside firm to clean and care for the schools.
ENNIS – The end of the school year is not an easy time for the kids, or their teachers. Everyone is looking forward to summer vacations and the freedom of not having to go to school.
ENNIS – The Ennis Community Children’s School has been a part of the community since 1982, when it was first founded to serve the needs of Ennis’ youngest members. Their mission is to increase children’s perception of the world and become enthusiastic learners. One way they are looking to do that is through an outdoor learning environment.
The Twin Bridges School Board had a big agenda on April 17, as Superintendent Chad Johnson said over 50 people were in attendance. Johnson said a portion of the agenda was spent talking about teacher and staff negotiations, class schedules and the upcoming summer season projects.
The Twin Bridges Alumni Association is pleased to offer graduates of Twin Bridges High School the following scholarships for continuing education:
• $500 Salutatorian Scholarship.
• $1,000 scholarship for a TBHS graduate who has completed at least one year of college.
