CAMARILLO, Calif. -- Lifelong Camarillo, Calif. resident Tim Griffin was born on Aug. 6, 1957 and passed away suddenly on Feb. 12, 2018.
A devoted Dodgers fan, Tim took countless trips to the High Sierras, enjoying backpacking hiking, fishing, and climbing Mt. Whitney. Tim also loved spending time with his family, friends, and beloved dog, John Deere, as well as fishing and hunting in Ennis, Mont.
Tim and his brother Mark worked together as co-owners of Griffin Family Funeral Chapels in Camarillo and Thousand oaks, which were founded by their father and uncle in 1950.
He is survived by his mother, Marie Griffin of Camarillo; uncle, Tom Griffin of Thousand Oaks; sisters, Stephanie (Dennis) Reilly of Santa Barbara, and Cynthia (James) Bond of Camarillo; brothers, Gilbert (Ann) Griffin of Ventura and Mark (Ann Marie) Griffin of Camarillo, numerous nieces and nephews: Tom (Amber) Reilly, Katie (Jake) Weintraub, Hillary (Justin) West, James (Kristen) Bond, Mark Bond, Billy (Lauren) Griffin, Jon (Jackie) Griffin, Joey Griffin, Jennifer (Mark) Giauque, and Michael Griffin and numerous great nephews, great nieces, and cousins. Tim was preceded in death by his father, Russell Griffin; and grandparents, Gilbert and Lilly Griffin and George and Ann Geib.
Visitation and funeral services were held Tues., Feb. 20 at Griffin Family Funeral Chapels, Camarillo, Calif. A family graveside service followed at Santa Barbara Cemetery, Santa Barbara, CA.
