Madison County athletes had one final chance last week to move up in district standings before heading to the 12C District Tournament in Butte, Feb. 15-17. The Twin Bridges Lady Falcons and Harrison/Willow Creek Lady Wildcats will open the tournament on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the MAC Center.

 

Falcon JV successful over Wildcats

Twin Bridges Lady Falcon junior varsity team took command of the Lady Wildcats during their Feb. 9 game. Hosting the Lady Wildcats, Twin Bridges ran away with the 33-18 victory.

Falcon teams roll past Prospectors

Both Falcon teams were successful during their senior honor night games Feb. 10. The Falcons hosted the Granite Prospectors and both teams walked off the floor with huge wins. The boys’ team defeated the Prospectors, 58-19, and the girls’, 73-28.

Mustangs fall to Trojans

Number four Ennis fell to the number one team in 12C, Drummond, on Feb. 9, 43-55. Hosting the Trojans to the Ron Pederson Memorial Gym, senior Gus Dickinson put down 14 points to lead the Mustang charge.

Evenly matched Mustangs, Wildcats battle for fourth place

The Ennis Mustangs traveled over the hill to battle the Harrison/Willow Creek Wildcats for their final regular season game on Feb. 10. Separated by one point at the half, the Mustangs found their drive late in the fourth quarter and won, 66-58.

Lady Mustangs victorious over Lady Trojans

Hosting the Lady Trojans on Feb. 9, the number one seed in 12C, the Ennis Mustangs, walked away with a 26-point victory. Fifteen points from Whitney McKitrick helped edge out the Trojans in the 49-23 final.

Wildcat JV fall by 15 to Mustangs

The Harrison/Willow Creek Wildcat junior varsity team lost to the Ennis Mustangs, 20-35 on Feb. 9. Despite point contributions from the entire Wildcat bench, Ennis’ Landri Paladichuck and Jenna Snider found their sweet spots behind the arc. Paladichuck banked two 3-pointers while Snider knocked down four.

Panthers see two road losses before tournaments

The Sheridan Panthers were on the road last week as they traveled to Lima and Lone Peak. Taking on the Lima Bears on Feb. 8, both the Panther teams were close to clinching the win. Unfortunately, the Lady Panthers were defeated, 35-37, and the boys’ team fell, 55-62.

Feb. 9 took the Panthers to Big Sky for a battle against the Lone Peak Big Horns. The Big Horns took both games, 55-33 girls final, 77-55, boys.
