PONY DAYS 2019!
It was a bright, cloudless day for Pony Days 2019
Every three years people line Broadway Street in Pony, Montana to celebrate Pony Days with a parade. Local businesses, cowboys and cowgirls throw out candy and wave to spectators as they parade through the town’s center.
This year’s judges were Dr. Andrea Cady, Martin Shepaherd and Hannah Kearse.
Pony Days started in 1961, rotating the celebration destination between the Montana towns of Norris, Harrison and Pony. But the first one was held in Pony, and over time Pony became home to the celebration. All of the communities join the parade and festivities.
The Pony Homecoming Club, a non-profit, puts the event together. After the parade, people gathered at the Pony Park for live music from the band, Honey and Rye, out of Four Corners, Montana. People purchased lunch tickets for BBQ, which the proceeds go toward the PHC. Vendors displayed their crafts and products on tables on one side of the park and children played games like ladder golf and the dunking booth on the other side.
