Commission applicants vie for open seat

District 3 opening inspires five applicants

F ollowing the early resignation of Madison County Commissioner Jim Hart five Ennis-area residents have thrown in their hats into the ring for a chance to be hired to the position.

John Heckler, Marc Glines, Michael R. White, Brian Conklin and Sabrina Sigourney are the applicants in the running.

At their Nov. 2 meeting Madison County Commissioners will announce the selection of a candidate review panel comprised of District 3 residents and set a date for interviews. That information will be published in the Nov. 11 issue of The Madisonian along with a candidate Q&A.

The final commissioner hiring decision will be on an upcoming regular commission meeting agenda and will be made by the two sitting commissioners.

Hart’s term was set to expire at the end of 2022. Whichever applicant is chosen to fill his seat will serve until then, and if they choose, can run for the open seat in the next primary election.
