The Mustangs were unstoppable at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9 as they charged past the Simms Tigers in Ennis, advancing to the state semifinals.
The Mustangs rushed for 158 yards and had 235 passing yards to score 10 touchdowns and shut out Simms, ending the game 76-0.
Ennis started the game strong, scoring 40 points in the first quarter after Walker McKitrick recovered a Simms fumble and Connor Sullivan snagged an interception on defense.
Senior Chad Johnerson led the team in touchdowns, making it into the end zone four times, not counting two point conversions.
The team will now travel to Charlo and face the number one seeded Vikings on Nov. 16 at Charlo High School at 1 p.m. The Vikings won their quarterfinal game against Culbertson/Bainville 60-14. Charlo’s only loss of the season came at the hands of Drummond; Ennis beat Drummond 50-0 in the Mustangs’ first-round playoff game.
