Reader scores with commissioners

Dear Editor,

I wish to thank the Madison County Commissioners for their “unanimous approval” of my Name Proposal ID #7877 at their June 11 meeting. I also sincerely appreciate those local citizens who appeared before the Commissioners, sent letters/emails and made phone calls. This was the first step in the procedure of naming the nearer of the “twin peaks” east of Sheridan, as Ferris Peak.

The Sheridan Town Council has placed my Naming Proposal on its agenda, July 8 at 6 p.m. for public comment. People of Sheridan, please attend to voice your support or send the clerk an email sheridan@3rivers.net.

Another great success

The Duck Crew would like to thank everyone who helped make our 3rd Annual Relay for Life Duck Race another great success.  To those who bought ducks, came out and watched the race, joined the party, bought auction items and donated to Relay for Life.  SPECIAL THANKS to John Overstreet and Greg DiIorio for releasing the ducks, the Sportsman’s Lodge for the party venue, chefs Mark and Jim, Deemo’s Meats, Madison Meadows Golf Course, Decoy Donnie and Bart Story, Ethan, for the awesome music.  Congratulations to our 1st place winner John Dampeer, last duck to arrive was owned by Katie Philpott.  This year’s inaugural ugly duck category was won by Elle.

Only ten short months before you will hear those famous four words again, “Wanna buy a duck?”

The 2nd annual Relay for Life Golf Tournament will be held on July 22 at Madison Meadows Golf Course.  Call the club house at 682-7468 to sign up.

Sincerely,

The Duck Crew

Thank you from pets and board

4 Paws Rescue would like to thank all who have supported us in the past as well as those who continue to support us.  We appreciate all of you who have adopted pets, as well as those businesses who sponsor the Pet of the Week.  We would also like to thank our wonderful Sheriff’s Dept. for their support, having people call regarding lost or found pets, and for putting a Pet of the Week on their Facebook page. Last, but definitely not the least, our terrific paper – The Madisonian!  You are all greatly appreciated.  We continually thank our LORD and Saviour for you and ask HIS blessing upon you all.

On behalf of the pets in our care and the Board,
