Lady Falcons get second place, Ennis secures fourth

UPDATE: The Twin Bridges Lady Falcons lost their second game of the season Saturday night, falling to Belt in the state championship 59-56 despite 41 points from their standout player Peyton Ferris.

Earlier in the evening, the Ennis Lady Mustangs fell in the consolation final game to Winnett/Grass Range 47-23.

Ferris was named the tournaments Most Valuable Player and to the all tournament team along with Mustang Mikayla Sullivan.

POSTED 3/10: The Twin Bridges Lady Falcons will play for the state title tonight after defeating the Fairview Lady Warriors Friday 58-44.

The Falcons will play Belt who beat the women from Ennis Thursday and Culbertson Friday.

The Lady Mustangs will play for the third place trophy tonight after they defeated Ekalaka Friday in overtime and Fairview 51-49.

The Lady Mustangs will take on Winnett/Grass Range who was thumped by the Falcons in the first round.

Tip off for the consolation final is 6:30. Tip off for the championship game is 8 p.m.

FRIDAY: It was a mixed bag for Madison County Thursday at the Montana Lady’s Class C State Basketball Tournament in Great Falls.

The Twin Bridges Lady Falcons moved on to the semifinals with a dominating win over Winnett/Grass Range 55-41.

However, the Ennis Lady Mustangs fell to the women from Belt 54-37.

The Ennis women battle back in the consolation bracket, facing Ekalaka at 2 p.m. today.

Twin Bridges will square off against Fairview in the semifinal match 6:30 today. Coincidentally, the Twin Bridges men’s team played and lost to Fairview in their state semifinals game last week in Billings. The men from Fairview went on to win the state title.
