Headwaters Resource, Conservation and Development is looking for Madison County residents to complete a survey on housing needs within the county.
The idea behind the short survey is to continue to gather data on housing needs in Madison County and surrounding areas, said Sheila Markazi an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer with Headwaters RC&D in Butte.
The information collected from the survey will also be included in the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy being updated by Headwaters, Markazi said.
Headwaters RC&D is a nonprofit group that serves seven counties in southwest Montana in a variety of ways. They provide small business development help, grant administration and education and training. Part of what the organization has helped Madison County with in the past is identifying low income housing needs. This survey continues some of that work.
The survey is being circulated throughout the Headwaters RC&D region, Markazi said.
“I’m trying to reach as many people as possible,” she said.
The survey asks a variety of questions concerning housing needs in local communities, to housing status of those being surveyed. The goal is to get surveys completed by a wide variety of people and not just focus on low-income housing needs, Markazi said.
