Hands-on vocational training prepares students for careers

Students intent on pursuing vocational fields of study and careers now have opportunities to begin training in Madison County at their individual schools. Trade skills classrooms and lessons are a departure from the traditional educational setting and an avenue for some students to move on to successful, well-paying careers.

With woodworking, welding, drafting and mechanics, students are doing more than building tables and learning how to change the oil in a car, according to Ennis teacher Chris McCown.
