The Ennis Planning Board has been working on a new growth policy for the town since Aug. 2013 and now the 40 plus page document is finally ready for public review and comment.
“We want to move forward with this,” said Keri Kensinger, board chairman. “Once we get public comment, we will go back and review all of it before taking the document to the Ennis Town Council, where they will have to make a resolution to pass it.”
The growth policy serves as an outline for responsible growth in town; Kensinger said it is not a mandate. It should be updated every five years to reflect changes in the community, but Ennis has not had an updated policy for at least seven, Kensinger said.
