Each year the Ennis Fourth of July Parade and Rodeo draws a crowd from all over southwest Montana as people crowd onto Main Street to take part in what has become a treasured tradition.
This event brings thousands of people to town and is sponsored by the Ennis Chamber of Commerce. However, it doesn’t happen without a substantial amount of coordination and effort from the Fourth of July Parade Committee and faithful volunteers.
This year the parade committee is planning a parade coordination meeting June 9 at the Madison Valley Public Library at 7 p.m. The goal of the meeting is to recruit volunteers for various aspects of the event and to discuss ongoing plans for the parade. The theme of this year’s parade is “Let Freedom Ring.”
Each year the parade committee recruits more than 20 volunteers to help with everything from selling T-shirts, to coordinating parade floats and helping judge entries. The time requirement is fairly short, but the benefit to the community is substantial as any help keeps the strong tradition of the parade going.
If you’re interested in helping out with Ennis’ biggest event of the year, please plan on attending the meeting or contact Pamela at the Ennis Chamber Office at 682-4388.
