Crews began work immediately once the storm that passed through Twin Bridges on Thursday afternoon died down. They continued removing debris and waiting for power to be restored, as of Friday afternoon.
People who want to volunteer – whether it is physically, financially or by providing food and drink – should check in at the Twin Bridges Town Hall or call (406) 684-5243. Volunteers received a briefing Friday after lunch from Incident Commander Chris Mumme. Many were sent to the Madison County Fairgrounds, as the work elsewhere began to lessen.
A few businesses remained open despite the power being out. Main Street Market and the Blue Anchor Bar had their doors open, while others like the Wagon Wheel, and The Shack joined Main Street Market in providing food and drinks for the volunteers.
Power was estimated to be restored to the majority of Twin Bridges by Friday evening.
