Basketball players earn post-season honors

While Madison County cannot boast a state championship team, local athletes have earned recognition for their efforts this season, including 14 players chosen for the Southwest All-Star game in Butte.

All-State recipients for the boys include Ennis Mustangs Connor Sullivan and Dalton Bullock, Twin Bridges Falcons Cole Miotke and CJ Cox. Harrison-Willow Creek Wildcats Britt Cooper and Jaci Nesbitt as well as Twin Bridges Lady Falcons Hannah Konen and Alison Griebenow.

Miotke and Cox were also named All-Conference with teammate Mackay Hirst. Kristen Ashcraft and Morgan Martin join Konen and Griebenow with All-Conference honors too. Braydon McKitrick and Wes Goodman were named All-Conference with Sullivan and Bullock. Garrett Petersen and Steven Strong were both selected All-Conference Second Team for Harrison-Willow Creek. Becca White and Kristen White were Second  Team selections for the Lady Wildcats, while Nesbitt and Cooper were name First Team All-Conference.

Sports writers and media personnel chose the all-star teams after coaches nominated players. The game, held Tuesday at the Montana Tech HPER Complex, included a 3-point contest at half-time. Players and alternates included Cooper, Nesbitt, Konen, Griebenow, Miotke, Cox, Hirst, Bullock, Sullivan, Petersen, McKitrick, as well as Ennis’ Chelsey Martello and Haley Nestegard, and Sheridan’s Brooke Lueck. Martello earned All-Conference honors and Nestegard was selected All-Conference Second Team.
